What each deletion removes, and how long data is kept
One page with every kind of deletion side by side, and the retention period for each kind of data we hold.

Remem has three separate kinds of deletion. None of them does the work of another.
Which deletion does what
| Action | Removes | Leaves |
|---|---|---|
| Delete account… (Mac app, Settings → Account) | Your vault account and all its data on the sync server, and this Mac’s copy | Copies on your other devices (they lock), your website account, server backups for up to 30 days, and any backup or export files you saved |
| Remove vault from this device (Mac app, Settings → This device) | This Mac’s vault, settings and Keychain entries | The server copy and your other devices |
| Remove (Mac app, Settings → Sync → Devices) | That device’s sign-in session | Everything on that device; it can sign back in with your master password |
| Delete your account (website, Your data) | Your website account, consents, sessions and unused invite | Your vault account; an anonymous record of the request |
| Dragging Remem to the Trash | The app only | Your vault, Keychain entries, the command-line tool and browser host files |
